FIN VIN DE LEU is given a final chance to show his true colours though Dollar Express and Spares And Repairs are obvious players. Mark Johnston's gelding is interesting stepped up in trip having had a couple of near misses over a mile. He hasn't set the world alight on polytrack so the outcome of this race will probably decide whether he stays in the stable or not. Dollar Express had not shown a great deal in maidens but his run in a Kempton maiden represented a step in the right direction. Spares And Repairs would have it to do at the figures but he was far from disgraced in a maiden over 1m3f at the course earlier in the month. Miss Keck didn't seem to enjoy her first visit to Southwell so it is something of a surprise to see her back. Adare had shown ability in bumpers for Tom Tate. This is his first run for Roy Brotherton. Augusta Gold gave a good account of himself in a claimer though his current BHA rating appears to bear no relation to his actual level of ability. Thirtyfourthstreet was raised 13lb by the assessor for a recent placing in a Wolverhampton maiden. That still would leave her some way short of the market principals at these terms. Plenty of imponderables among these and Fin Vin De Leu is given the drink in the last chance saloon.
