Major Pop is an interesting newcomer however this may lie between the bumper horses Hunters Belt and WRONGWAYROUND with marginal preference for the latter. Alan Swinbank's gelding seemed to handle the surface fine when second here last time out but he just seemed to find the trip on the short side. Now stepped up in distance and with experience of the fibresand to his advantage he could be hard to beat. Hunters Belt attracted some good market support at Wolverhampton last time out and this Musselburgh bumper winner ran a race with some promise. He didn't seem to handle the tight turns of Wolverhampton and short finishing straight but on this more galloping track he looks sure to run a much better race. Decibel is another who has shown promise in bumpers and he should strip fitter after a Wolverhampton run following almost two years on the sidelines, Doctor Of Music needs to improve markedly for the step back up in trip, whilst Hydrant comes here in better form than most but looks flattered by his official rating of 70. Light The City may improve now stepped up in trip, however a bigger threat looks likely to be Major Pop. Richard Fahey's debutant is bred to be effective on the dirt, although this trip may be far enough for the time being. An interesting race, and we are happy to side with Wrongwayround.
