Roger Charlton's Perfect Night finally came good in a Wolverhampton maiden over seven furlongs two weeks ago and, while she has to be respected in a weak race, the daughter of Danzig Connection faces no easy task giving weight away all round here over a furlong shorter trip and preference is for Inching, who gets the vote over Eastern Blue. The last mentioned has slipped to an attractive mark and, provided she handles the surface, is entitled to be thereabouts as she is a consistent performer. Ally Makbul appreciated the drop back to this trip, having been campaigned at distances up to 1m2f during the summer, when winning a Wolverhampton claimer last time and is another worthy of a mention, along with Tamarella, who is well handicapped on the best of her turf form and who's stable was back among the winners on Saturday. However, it might be worth taking a chance with Inching. The daughter of Inchinor ran up to her current rating when a close up sixth to Phrenologist in a Lingfield maiden last week when without the tongue strap that she had worn in her previous three starts. The fitting of a visor for the first time today may make all the difference and, off what looks like a favourable mark, she gets the nod.
