Mabel Riley might prove the answer in a tricky heat, with Penny Valentine and Carols Choice also holding claims. Mabel Riley's only victory came in a seller here in January, and since then has certainly been a bit in and out to say the least. However, if she can show the same determination as she did when third at Leicester in July, trainer Mark Buckley can land this event for the second time, having collected 12 months ago with Hampton Lucy. Penny Valentine is weighted on what she has achieved so far, but has place claims, while the booking of Lisa Jones for Carols Choice catches the eye. The young South African sat on the six-year-old for the first time at Wolverhampton 10 days ago to get the feel of her, and the drop back to six furlongs should help. It is not a race to get too heavily involved in but Mabel Riley is a very tentative selection.
