In depth

Verdict

New York Oscar and Crimson King, both course winners, could be the two to concentrate on here and narrow preference is for Crimson King. He looked to have been in need of the run when well-held on his reappearance but if he follows the same pattern as last season then he will win today. As he didn't see the racecourse until last year, it is clear that he may not have been the most straight-forward to train, however with further improvement this season he is fancied to run well. New York Oscar tries the visor once again and should run his race but he appears high enough in the weights at present, so Resplendent Alpha could be a more likely threat having run well at the track before without actually getting his head in front. Doubtful Sound needs a check in the betting making his seasonal reappearance but may just need the run, whilst Blue Rocket and Compton Classic are both capable and both are fairly consistent. An open-looking race, with Coleorton Dancer not out of it given he has won off a much higher mark in the past, however it is Crimson King who is taken to score.
