Verdict

Ballycroy Boy appears to relish the fibresand and is the pick with Mac Dalia and Copperbottomed appearing the main dangers. Alan Baileys' charge, who is top rated in the contest, was disappointing last time at Wolverhampton and with a visor applied for the first time on that occasion, it failed to bring about the desired effect. This bunch are very hit and miss though and a re-production of his penultimate outing, over course and distance, behind Only A Game would see him land this. He has the beating of Diademus on the evidence of that outing being 12lb better off for a 1/2l beating. Mac Dalia is best treated according to the ratings. Stepped up to 7f last time, that stretched his stamina. The minimum trip appears his optimum but he cannot be counted out of calculations. Copperbottomed is another that has served connections admirably throughout the winter months. He was the winner of a weak 7f contest two outings back. He lacks a finishing kick though and might be vulnerable against the like of Ballycroy Boy. Only five going to post but it is a tight affair and Ballycroy Boy is the pick.
