In depth

Verdict

Any support for Bold Phoenix should be noted, but we shall row in with Blakeshall Quest ahead of Amanda's lad, with New Wish worth a mention as well. There would appear to be plenty in with chances on their best form, but the recent success of Blakeshall Quest over six furlongs here nine days ago augurs well for her chance over this longer trip. Given a fine ride by George Baker, she was produced late to win readily by two lengths, and as she goes best on this surface, is taken to find the extra needed to score over today's seven furlongs. Amanda's Lad tried to make all of the running here last time but faded out of sight behind Wainwright and tries seven furlongs for the first time since last June. He makes little appeal, but New Wish drops back in distance after failing to last home over nine furlongs on the Wolverhampton Polytrack surface. He can make his presence felt, while any support for the Barney Curly-trained Bold Phoenix would advertise his claims as well. Blakeshall Quest is the one to catch though, and he can give weight and a beating to his rivals.
