A poor contest to conclude the card and BEAT THE SHOWER might be capable of getting the better of Swords and Jackie Kiely. As you would expect from a 0-60 handicap consistency is not the strong suit of many of these, but Beat The Shower has hit some form towards the back end of the turf campaign and looks worth another try on this surface. He gets this trip well and likes slow ground on turf so there is hope for him from a very competitive mark. Swords carries a penalty for beating Jackie Kiely over course and distance last time and is therefore 6lbs worse off for one-and-threequarter lengths. There shouldn't be much to choose between the pair, though form students will expect Philip Makin's mount to reverse those placings. Stravita is 5lbs above when scoring over track and trip last December and has won when fresh in the past, so support for her would be interesting, while Sleepy Mountain has been given a squeak after a 5lb drop. Beat The Shower gets the vote.
