    Verdict

The feature race on the card can go to Whitbarrow ahead of Matty Tun, Moayed, Quiet Times, and last year's winner Trinculo. This could be close to call, with the decent prizemoney attracting some useful sprinters including Whitbarrow. Milton Bradley is a past-master at getting one ready for this sort of race, and his five-year-old lines up on the back of an encouraging close second to Matty Tun at Doncaster last month. The latter burst through to lead close home from four-pounds out of the handicap, but at the revised weights, will do well to maintain the form against his rival who has been more like his old self of late. It must not be forgotten that he was a Group winner for Rod Millman three years ago, and although a lot of water has gone under the bridge since then, there is no substitute for class. Moayed beat a good field of sprinters at Newmarket in May, vindicating Nick Littmoden's decision to drop him back in trip, and having scored again since at Lingfield, where he beat Quiet Times, he will be a danger, especially as the stable collected last year. That was with Trinculo who is now with another 'sprint king' in Dandy Nicholls. That win was achieved off a mark of 88, and he is now three-pounds lower, so has a great chance of finishing ahead of last year's third and fifth, Dancing Mystery and Zarzu. A fascinating contest can go to Whitbarrow.
