Siena Star, a well backed beaten favourite last time can gain compensation here at the expense of Coppermalt and Wages. Peter Bowen's gelding found the trip just too far last time when finishing third to Whaleef at Fontwell. Over this two mile trip over the easier contours of Kempton he should be capable of a much better performance and is a confident selection. Coppermalt has put in two promising displays at Stratford and Plumpton recently and will be very hard to keep out of the place money. Meanwhile Wages ran well over course and distance last time when fourth behind Man From Howarth and could prove best of the others. So not the strongest of handicap hurdles and Siena Star is up to winning first prize.
