Paul Blockley seems to have found a suitable opportunity for Only If I Laugh to resume winning ways and is taken to score at the main expense of Obe Bold and Back At De Front. The last mentioned is well treated on her best form but as given little sign of encouragement of late and a bigger threat may come from Obe Bold, who hails from a stable beginning to hit form and may be better than recent evidence suggests. George Moore's Beamsley Beacon was well beaten in similar company over course and distance five days ago, while Velvet Touch finished last of 11 in a handicap here over the minimum trip on the same card. The fact that the last two mentioned have more solid claims than any of the other remaining runners not previously mentioned shows the lack of strength in depth here and Only If I Laugh is hard to oppose. The selection has been running well without any success of late and in such a poor contest has an obvious chance of gaining an overdue visit to the winners' enclosure.
