        Verdict

        Rowenbury can land this opener at the expense of Axis Shield and Laurel Dawn. The selection has run two fine races of late finishing third on his seasonal reappearance and an eye catching second of twelve at Kempton last time out behind Forest Dane. That form alone looks good enough to win this so Rowenbury is a horse to stay on the right side of. Axis Shield was in the winners enclosure last time out winning over course and distance and could be well in today on old ratings so is one to note in the market as is Laurel Dawn who won over course and distance last month and was not disgraced in defeat behind Estoille who takes runs again today on less favourable terms. But for the winner we return to Rowenbury.
