        Verdict

        Not a particularly inspiring maiden and we will side with Captain Jacksparra to take it, with Mr Whoppit, Medici Pearl and Modern Verse others of note. The selection will be trying to go one better than when just collared on the line here over 7f last time. The drop back to this trip looks to be the correct decision and with that form being the best on offer from those we have seen here then we will side with the colt's experience. Neither Modern Verse nor Medici Pearl have had the benefit of racecourse experience thus far but of the pair it is probably likely that Alan Swinbank's runner, Modern Verse will be the straighter. The trainer does well with first time winners in bumpers, so watch the market for an betteridea of this gelding's chances. Of the others Mr Whoppit will strip fitter for a respectable first run but Captain Jacksparra is the one they all have to beat.
