tracked leaders, ridden 3f out, chased winner approaching final furlong, no impression
in touch, short of room over 4f out, soon ridden, weakened over 3f out
slowly away, held up, improved 6f out, ridden and weakened over 3f out
always travelling well, tracked leader, shaken up to lead 2f out, ran on, eased near finish
held up, ridden and headway over 3f out, kept on under strong pressure from over 1f out, never dangerous
soon led, ridden and headed 2f out, weakened final furlong
Newnham gets the call ahead of Antrim and Sri Lipis. Newnham has the best form on offer and, really, will rarely get a better chance to earn some winning brackets. Richard Fahey's Antrim, a debuting son of Giant's Causeway is very interesting, while the best of Sri Lipis's form to date puts him in with at least a chance of making the frame. On balance, the others of those to have run need to find something more than they have so far shown in order to score, if you see what I mean which, in turn, returns us to the selection, which is Newnham.
