In depth

Verdict

Despite some decent efforts, Spare Cash has yet to win a race but Alan King's gelding is taken to make the most of receiving weight from the likes of The Sliotar and Gee Dee and he gets the vote, with The Accordion Man rated the best of the remainder. It won't be too often that Robert Thornton heads to the likes of Southwell on a Sunday but a perusal of his placed form reads well. The Sliotar won two on the bounce last Autumn. He was well held when upped in grade at Cheltenham. Gee Dee made all at Market Rasen and wasn't stopping at the end of that 2m6f. Openditch did not show too much on a return from absence. Connections have been open about the gelding needing better ground to be at his best. April San is invariably vulnerable to anything with a little progression in their profile. Royal Arms pulled up sharply after plenty of pace at Plumpton. The Accordion Man has won point-to-points in the past and could be anything.
