The second division of the one mile handicap does not look any easier than the first with plenty of the nine runners having claims. Professional loser Sorbiesharry finally came good at the 23rd attempt when successful over course and distance last month and has more to do off his new mark. Brandy Cove has a 4lb pull for a length and three-quarters with Norma Macauley's horse and should not be discounted. He was done few favours by a draw in stall 12 that day and again has a difficult berth to overcome having been drawn widest of all in stall nine. Richard Whitaker's Alchemist Master was a disappointing favourite of a Lingfield maiden last time and is difficult to recommend on his Fibresand debut, while topweight Up Tempo has also yet to prove his effectiveness on this surface. James Eustace's Yorker has been running with credit at Wolverhampton recently and there is no reason to suggest he cannot be so effective on this surface (has handled it before) but the gelding looks a shade high in the weights at present. Maunby Roller should find this tougher than the claimer he won last month and the selection is Kanz Wood. Tony Carroll's gelding overcame an absence from the track and a long losing sequence when coming from off the pace to score over course and distance last time. Still well treated on his old form, the son of Woodman has every chance of following up off a 6lb higher mark.
