Magic Route has been showing the best form among those to have raced recently but this is likely to go to one of the reappearing runners with preference for Ben Britten over Gaelic Flight. The last mentioned won off just a 1lb lower mark over hurdles when last seen and has to be of interest back over the larger obstacles off today's mark on his return. Charlie Egerton's gelding would need to improve on previous form over fences to take a hand though and he may be best watched today. Billie John looks to be in the grip of the handicapper at present, while Alfy Rich may want a softer surface. Kerry's Blade is entitled to come on for his recent reappearance and could be of interest but preference is for Ben Britten. The Nicky Richards-trained gelding showed progressive form over hurdles last term and it is of interest that his in-form handler has wasted no time in putting him over fences so a chance is taken with him on his debut off what looks a fair mark.
