Black Mogul is the pick with Numero Due and Rubys Cove the others to make appeal. The selection has had chances in the past to break the maiden. Well backed at Cartmel, that money wasn't too far away from being landed and over today's shorter trip, that confidence can be repaid. Numero Due was a fine staying type on the flat. With a lack of opportunities on the flat for fast ground horses, it is no surprise to see him embark on a hurdling career at this juncture. Rubys Cove hails from an unfashionable yard. A ready winner of a Wetherby bumper, the ex-pointer was not unsupported on the day. Danehill Silver failed to build upon a fair second at Cartmel. Vincenzio has looked more than a little windy in a finish in the past and comes here fresh from another near miss on the level. Viva Volta hails from a respected yard and must be noted closely in the market. Tara Queen is from a good family though hasn't set the world alight. Black Mogul gets our vote.
