Verdict

As with most of the races on the round course, a high draw is a slight advantage, which brings Camille Pissarro, Just A Martian and Yeoman Lad into the argument. However, a chance is taken with Grand Passion to show the benefit of a recent outing at Leicester, where he looked as though the outing would do him good. Geoff Wragg has started the season well and this half-brother to middle-distance winner Out On A Promise, and winning hurdler Cooling Off is sure to been seen to better effect over this longer trip. No shortage of dangers including the well drawn Yeoman Lad, who ran on into sixth place behind the selection at Leicester and is 2lbs better off this time. He too is sure to strip sharper here, but even though he meets the selection on better terms, he still has something to find. Camille Pissarro is open to any amount of improvement and is feared, especially with Kieren Fallon retaining the ride. A good third in a competitive handicap at Newbury, he should just about take care of New Wish, who was a couple of lengths behind there, but will be 2lbs better off her, taking into account his apprentices claim. Just A Martian is another entitled to have come on for his recent outing on the Polytrack, while handicap debutantes Louis Napoleon and Interceptor have plenty to do from their outside draws.
