Four last time out winners line up for this contest including Magic Mistress and Classic Role but the vote goes to Mick Channon's Fast Foil, who has been a touch unlucky recently and is taken to gain a well-deserved success. In a competitive eight-runner event where very few can confidently ruled out, Brilliant Red heads the weights. Jamie Poulton's gelding has run some decent races in defeat of late but appears a shade high in the weights at present. Magic Mistress made all when winning at Ascot last time but may not have things all her own way today. Classic Role, Pay The Silver and Sky Quest have all been raised for their respective wins last time and face stiffer tasks here and a bigger threat to the selection may come from Desert Island Disc, who has been knocking on the door of late, although there is a suspicion that she may prefer a softer surface. Fleet Of Light is less exposed than most but the one that gets the vote is Fast Foil. Mick Channon's filly has been on the go for some time but has been holding her form well this term and there have been excuses for her last two defeats. The daughter of Lahib had little chance having raced wide throughout at Chester but was narrowly beaten at the line and was given too much to do behind the unexposed Mr Lear at Ripon last time. Granted better luck, she looks worth a bet.
