Verdict

A competitive contest gets proceedings under way but the main protagonists appear to be Birikina, Hanton and Petardias Magic and we will take a chance on Hanton. The colt from the Mark Wallace yard won a seller on his debut under a fine ride from Fallon and the fact that connections went to 28,000 gns to buy him back suggests they think he is capable of better. He is sure to have learnt from the experience and he will be hard to beat with conditions in his favour. Birikina rates the main danger he won well last time out when defeating Lizhar and he is sure to improve again with the step up in trip sure to suit. Patardias Magic could also go well he defeated Silver Prelude last time and that horse has since franked the form. Of the remainder Wares Home and Fiori Di Bosco are both in form but this race is more competitive than the races they have been running in of late so we are happy to side with the unexposed Hanton.
