Riva Royale and Inching both have solid claims on their recent form but the vote goes to Go Polar, who won well at Newmarket last time and is taken to defy an 8lb rise in the weights. Riva Royale has been dropped 1lb since her second to Material Witness in a classified stakes race at Chepstow and has to enter calculations on that form, while Inching has been given lowered a similar amount by the handicapper following her most recent start at Nottingham. Ikan is better treated than for some time and is another to consider along with Richard Fahey's bottom weight Kings College Boy. However, Go Polar won with plenty in hand when successful at headquarters, leading over a furlong out and staying on well. She will be tough to beat despite the rise in the weights.
