Verdict
In contrast to the preceding Classic Trial the last four renewals of this contest have been won by either the favourite or joint favourite. A market check is, therefore, advisable but it may lead us to side with DORBACK who's preferred to Take Ten and Nosedive. The selection has some illustrious hoofsteps to follow in as Kyllachy and the ill-fated Corrybrough have both won this race for Henry Candy in recent years. It's too early to suggest that Dorback is in their class just yet but he was good enough to beat a subsequent Group 3 winner on debut and could be well treated on that evidence. Nosedive struggled in the face of some stiff tasks last season and is held by Star Rover on their running at York but he may have more to offer this season whilst Take Ten should relish the drop back in trip and may be able to maintain his rate of progress. This looks competitive but Dorback may prove to be a cut above his rivals.
