Verdict
A return to Wales may see TAFFY THOMAS back in the winners' enclosure, perhaps at the chief expense of Putney Bridge and Extreme Impact. Peter Bowen's gelding was a good winner at Ffos Las in January and certainly acquitted himself well when second to Five Out Of Five at Hereford last time out. It appears that this ground should be fine and he looks sure to run well. Putney Bridge has a bit of a hit-and-miss profile but he won well last time, despite the margin of victory being exaggerated by the departure of his main rival late on; if in the same mood he should go close. Extreme Impact's run behind Riptide at Newbury last time out has been franked and this Rock Of Gibraltar gelding is highly-thought-of. If he handles this quicker ground then he should play a part in the finish. J'Adhere drops markedly in grade, whilst Consulate hasn't gone on this year from some good runs in the autumn culminating in a win at Fontwell in October. An open start to the day, but preference is for Taffy Thomas.
