North Parade drops back from a Group 3 and is sure to be popular but we prefer the look of Island Vista in an interesting maiden. Speed Ticket went into more notebooks than are found in your average stationer following his run at Kempton and the race has produced a couple of winners. Unleashed, Flam and Drum Major have also done enough to suggest that they won't remain maidens for long and the newcomers will need to be above average if they're going to make the perfect start to their careers. North Parade finished a good second to Centennial in a conditions race on his second start at two and was pitched into the deep end on his seasonal return. Connections reported that he failed to handle the track in the Dee Stakes and a maiden should be a formality but we're prepared to take him on. The selection is a Montjeu filly from a top class family and has been given the entries to match her pedigree. On her sole run as a juvenile she beat all bar the more experienced and smart Annie Skates over a trip which is likely to have been a bare minimum. She will come into her own over middle distances and beyond this season and Island Vista can take a step towards her main objectives by scoring today.
