A typically open three year-old handicap in which Dr Livingstone receives a hopeful vote. The Galloping Shoe and Redesignation are two potential dangers. The selection shaped well on a couple of occasions at two and again on his reappearance at Nottingham before delivering in a Salisbury handicap over ten furlongs last time. He kept on well to repel all challengers that day but may be more at home over this trip and a 4lb rise isn't insurmountable. The Galloping Shoe was the subject of sustained support prior to his debut at Brighton and his supporters rarely had a moment's worry as he ran out a ready winner. This race is a completely different kettle of fish and will provide a better barometer of his ability; it may be worth taking him on if he's a short price. Redesignation has no easy task under top weight but was progressive last season and may be able to resume from where he left off but there are several similar types in this field who may be better handicapped. Dr Livingstone is the tentative selection.
