CALIPATRIA finished ahead of Alioonagh last time and can confirm the form, despite the fact the latter should learn plenty from that experience. The winner that day landed a competitive York handicap on Wednesday adding substance to the form and John Gosden's filly wasn't given a hard time to finish third so returned to turf and kept to a mile, the case for her is a strong one. Madonna Dell'orto may find this easier than her three assignments to date and the drop back in trip is unlikely to hinder her prospects but her overall level of form adds to the feeling that this isn't the strongest maiden for the track. With that in mind, support for any of the newcomers should be noted, with Royal Assent most appealing on paper and Ijaaza likely to improve for the run. Calipatria gets the vote in a less than inspiring maiden.
