Support for Acute or Cai Shen would be significant however ARC LIGHT sets a strong standard. Mahmood Al Zarooni's Shamardal colt caught the eye when putting in good late work at Newmarket despite missing the break. More professional today he looks likely to run well from his good draw. Acute is related to winners at two but he has already been gelded, Cai Shen looked in need of the experience at Newbury and the form looks solid, if unspectacular, whilst Labarinto is another who should improve for his debut but he will need at least another furlong before he's seen to best effect. Muntasib was green at Brighton but the form of the yard remains a concern, and more dangerous could be the Ascot runner-up Noonenose or the well-bred newcomers Oversteer, Perfect Mission or Violet Ray. Of those debutants, it is Oversteer who makes most appeal coming from a very classy French family.
