On a line through Harris Tweed, Mark Johnston's Green Lightning should be winning this up just 5lbs for beating the Haggas-trained inmate when last seen. That Joe Fanning gets off Bay Willow to ride him is also a pointer towards his chance but he's been off the track for over three months since winning that Newmarket contest and that is a worry. Consequently we'll select BERLING in the hope that blinkers spark a return to form. John Dunlop's animal has disappointed the last twice since an unlucky fifth at Royal Ascot but with the likelihood of a good pace to aim at he could be worth siding with dropped a pound. Despite the jockey bookings Bay Willow isn't dismissed after resuming his progression at Ascot, likewise Zuider Zee is respected as his form stacks up but he has been clobbered for winning a mediocre race at Doncaster. Montparnasse comfortably holds Moose Moran and could go well along with the progressive Trovare, whose yard remains in good form.
