Another race with plenty of last-time winners, and the one that can come out on top again is MARIE DE GUISE, while Sweet Clementine, Circus Girl and Lost Horizon will all come here with genuine hopes of a follow-up. Right Rave was also a winner when last seen, taking a Windsor handicap, with the front pair clear, and pedigree suggests that this step up in trip will suit, although previous form would imply that the rise in the weights will be her undoing. Kempton scorer Sweet Clementine has been rated at 80 for her introduction to handicapping, and as another with possibilities now upped further in distance, then she looks a leading player. Circus Girl was the narrow winner of a Windsor maiden, where again the front two were clear, and with a mark of 79 plus useful claimer Martin Lane up she looks capable of close involvement. Lost Horizon won a soft ground Warwick maiden and has also shown that she handles fast ground, though the assessor has left her on 77 after that win, which doesn't suggest that he is of the opinion that she is improving. The market should be checked for clues, but without that knowledge we will side with Marie De Guise. The Verglas filly did well to land a competitive Nottingham maiden earlier in the month and she is almost certain to improve for the experience and some race fitness. The step up in trip looks ideal and with the ground no issue, she is taken to go in again.
