ORIENTAL SCOT looked a real improver when bolting up over this trip at Nottingham last time and is taken to defy an understandably hefty rise to follow-up, while Treble Jig is very much respected, and Shamir should get involved. The William Jarvis-trained selection ran on strongly for that Colwick Park success, when he showed that he handles firm ground, although being by Selkirk he should be equally at home on a good or softer surface. The win marked him out as one to follow and we will do so on this, his handicap debut. Treble Jig confirmed the promise of his debut by beating subsequent winner Suited And Booted at Newmarket last August, and he reappears after a nine-month absence for his own introduction to handicapping from a mark of 83. With Sir Michael Stoute's runners continuing in form a big run would hardly be surprising. Lingfield maiden winner Shamir should relish this step-up in trip and has claims, as has fellow Polytrack scorer Prince Of Sorrento. Come On Safari hails from a yard going well and may fare better after a break, though preference tonight is for Oriental Scot.
