A competitive contest where SIR PITT is the one taken to come home in front ahead of Deauville Post, Atlantic Tiger and Rock A Doodle Doo. The selection has won two of his last three, and perhaps didn't handle the track when tried in-between those successes at Beverley. John Gosden's colt sees out 1m 4f very well and he races as though today's trip will be no problem, so we will side with this progressive sort. Deauville Post decimated a small field of maidens at Haydock over 12f last month and he returns to handicapping on a mark 5lbs higher than when he last appeared in this sphere and was beaten at Newmarket. Even so, he looks very solid now and should go close. Atlantic Tiger has a 50 per cent strike rate from four career starts, and he stayed on strongly to win at Kempton in April. He also shapes as though he will get this far and is very much respected from 5lbs higher. Rock A Doodle Do completed a hat-trick on the Polytrack in January and has been competitive on turf in recent runs, so you couldn't rule him out totally despite another 4lb increase on his back. Desert Recluse is another to have completed a hat-trick and has a similar profile in recent handicaps, so he should be on the premises, though preference is for Sir Pitt.
