The short list contains Silver Dip, Stanley Goodspeed and Against The Grain, with the selection being Silver Dip. Despite having been raised six pounds for a Thirsk win, Silver Dip is lightly raced, open to improvement and still looks competitive today. Mind you, you could say that about a lot of these, some of which will get a mention. The first-time blinkers worked the oracle for Ocean Pride last time, but can he defy a rise? That's the question. Blades Girl finished second in a valuable sales race on her final start last season, while Against The Grain won well on his Newmarket maiden debut. Louie Louie is capable of running well from his current mark. Ditto re Carmenero. Stanley Goodspeed would have finished closer but for getting hampered over course and distance last time, so is another that could go well. Scarlet Flyer ran better than his finishing position at Epsom last time might suggest and is another to consider. Like the opener, this is competitive and we would not rule out good shows from Cape Presto and Judraan, but the vote goes to Silver Dip.
