Emerald Wilderness can get losses back at the expense of Altar and Balnagore, with Seteem best of the remainder. Having posted a promising first effort behind stablemate Halicarnassus on his Newmarket debut, Emerald Wilderness let his supporters down when playing second-fiddle to main market rival Mesbaah at Beverley. However, the son of Green Desert had the third horse eight-lengths away, and now tackles an extra furlong which hopefully will prove the answer. Altar looks the best of the Richard Hannon pair, having finished a creditable fourth to Big Robert here last time despite still looking too keen. Balnagore was going well at halfway on his second career outing at Salisbury, but found nothing when let down. Maybe the rain-softened ground was to blame, and he should be given another chance to show his worth. Seteem was given a quiet introduction at Chepstow recently, and is another that will come into his own over further in time, but for now we are happy to side with Emerald Wilderness who appears to be more forward than most.
