Verdict

Pay The Silver has gone up a stone since winning an amateur riders' handicap over this trip in June and it may be that this nine furlongs is his optimum trip. Ian Wood's runners have been going well, though it is questionable if there is any further improvement in this game grey. Instead, the TEAMtalk vote goes to Analyze, who ran a cracker at Nottingham the other day, when he was a little unlucky in running. He is taken to get it right this time. Old man Sky Dome will doubtless put up another good showing, but he has never won beyond a mile and is likely to be tapped for toe by a few of these, while the Jamie Osborne-trained Thesis is slipping down the handicap and is certainly not without a chance.
