Verdict

The drop to a 0-80 for the first time in a while will suit Wing Play however ROSCO FLYER comes here in much better form and is fancied to see off Pool Of Knowledge and Absinthe. Roger Teal's gelding has been in great form of late, building on two second-placed finishes in May with victories at Salisbury and Kempton. He is 4lbs higher than his latest success but he looks on the upgrade and should give his running. Pool Of Knowledge was well-held over hurdles at Southwell last time out but he won well at Stratford earlier in the summer and could be well-treated returned to the level off 76. Uncle Fred's fourth to L'Hirondelle is fine and his mark is slipping to an attractive one, Absinthe has been off for four months but his Hanoverian Baron form here last year means that he is respected, alongside Wing Play who represents a stable in good form and he is now 2lbs lower than his last win at Wolverhampton last year. Green Wadi needs a market check on this return to action as he likes quick ground, Hidden Glory flopped at Epsom but that track doesn't suit every horse and he is more interesting returned to the scene of his excellent third to Beachfire, whilst Blues Music is another whose latest effort might be best forgotten and on the pick of his form he still looks well-handicapped. Essexbridge is another to consider with Richard Hughes back in the saddle, however the verdict goes the way of Rosco Flyer.
