BOWERMASTER's form looks solid and he is preferred to Coachlight, Jehanbux and Johnny Castle. Mahmood Al Zarooni's colt ran well behind a stablemate at Newmarket before following that up with a solid third in a better race at the same track. He has shaped as if ready for this longer trip and with the form of his latest run franked by the second, fifth, seventh and ninth-placed horses, he looks the one to beat. Coachlight shaped with plenty of promise on debut at Salisbury and this son of Cape Cross is expected to step up on that run, although his pedigree hints at a softer surface being more suitable. Of more interest then is Johnny Castle who ran a cracker here on debut over seven furlongs. He was never nearer than at the line and this Shamardal colt is related to stayers so this mile should see plenty of improvement. Oetzi and Miss Chicane look like they might need more time, so a bigger threat today could be Jehanbux. Richard Hannon's son of Giant's Causeway ran a cracker here on debut before disappointing as an odds-on favourite at Ascot. He found plenty of trouble on that occasion but the gaps tend to emerge at this track and with the longer trip in his favour he looks sure to go well. El Mansour is another from a successful American family and he rates a danger, however this longer trip will ask more questions today. This looks a good opportunity for Bowermaster to break his duck at the third time of asking.
