Verdict
In a smashing line-up for this tricky Listed race, Itnab is a tentative selection. She was hugely impressive when winning at Goodwood last time, although she did display temperament there. However, if she keeps it all together, this daughter of the dual Classic winner, Midway Lady, looks to hold a very bright future. Turning to the others, of the 14 horses that followed Almaviva home at Newmarket on her debut, 11 of them have since won. Favourable Terms won impressively on her debut (All Embracing was eighth there but has improved and won since), and the two that followed her home that day have since won. Kieren Fallon was impressed by her that day and she comes here with a big chance. Duty Paid and Gonfilia finished tenth and 12th respectively in what has proven to be an excellent Sagitta 1,000 Guineas, and the former has since finished sixth behind the top-class Guineas winner Russian Rhythm at Royal Ascot, although she has to concede three pounds to her opponents here. Al Ihtithar was a smart juvenile but has not been seen since April, when sixth in the 10-furlong Pretty Polly Stakes. She suggested there that the drop to today's trip might suit her. Londonnetdotcom hasn't quite lived up to her trainer's hopes but ran well when second in a Listed event at Epsom on her run before last. Soldera's second to Khulood in the Oh So Sharp Stakes at Newmarket last time reads well and she'll have her supporters. As we say, a smashing race in which it is tricky to predict the winner, but we'll take a chance on Itnab.
