Verdict

More than a third of these are racing in public for the first time, so close scrutiny of the market's advised for those being backed or swerved, but DIRECT ANSWER looks capable, and is preferred to stablemate Judicious and Quick Deal. Jockey bookings suggest that Direct Answer is the pick of Sir Michael Stoute's runners; second on debut at Lingfield, we'll now see how he fares on turf. Related to some profitable sorts in The States, he was a bit unlucky to win that race, and a clear passage this time around could reap dividends. Judicious is making his debut; a son of Pivotal; he doesn't have any fancy entries at all, and with Ryan Moore on board our selection, Richard Mullen does the steering on him.Quick Deal cost connections over half a million dollars, but will need to step up from debut to win. Kensei keeps coming close, and the step back up in trip could see him finally lose his maiden tag at the seventh time of asking. It's a punters' minefield, but asked for a straight question as to who we'll be backing, we'll give you a Direct Answer
