Burgundy can land the opener at the expense of Lady Friend and Sky Quest. The selection has been about a bit for sometime now with one hundred and eleven career starts and fifteen wins under his belt. His latest win coming last time out over course and distance when getting the better of Veiled Applause by over two lengths. As a consiquense he carries a six pound penalty for his effort but he still races off a handy mark and although things might get tougher for him from now on he looks a horse worth siding with for the time being. Lady Friend will pose as the biggest danger as she is relatively unexposed with only four runs under her belt. She did not act around Chester on her penultimate outing but apart from that has improved with each outing winning last time out at Windsor for which she is also carrying a six pound penalty. On the down side she looks to handle a decent cut in the ground but with a dry week forecast it could end up being on the fast side which would not suit. Sky Quest is well exposed but came back to his best when an eye catching second to Hazelnut at Newmarket last time out and a repeat of that performance can see him go close. But for the winner we return to Burgundy who we feel can win back to back races.
