Leader of the Land is in good heart and can win again with Captain Cool and Red Barcelona taken to hit the frame. The last named, trained by Mark Tompkins, ran well on his seasonal bow, which was also his handicap debut, when chasing home a useful type. He will be fitter this time and can go well again. Captain Cool has been in fine form of late, winning at various distances, and the trip will not be a problem. He is only 3lbs higher than when successful last time and must be on the shortlist. Leader of the Land stayed on to good effect to score at Beverley recently, relishing the uphill finish. He may need a good gallop to be seen to best effect, but he may be able to shrug off his 6lb penalty. Leader of the Land can live up to his name in a competitive affair.
