In depth

Verdict

Slip needs a market check on his reappearance run, but with an inexperienced jockey aboard he is fairly easy to pass on and instead narrow preference is for Silca Destination ahead of stablemate Alfredtheordinary. The selection disappointed last time at Newbury but that was on soft ground which may not have been ideal. Although yet to win in six starts on turf (seemingly much better on the all-weather), this quick ground should suit and he looks fairly treated now on a mark of 63. The stable continue in good form and he can go well with one of the more experienced jockeys aboard. Stablemate Alfredtheordinary is ridden by Matthew Davies who is not far away from riding out his claim and he has a chance based on a recent third but he is yet to win in 11 turf starts so has something to prove. Slip needs a check in the betting, but a mark of 65 should not be beyond this son of Fraam, however he needs to step up on what we have seen to date. Pretty Officer needs respect with the stable in top form, whilst Xtravaganza could run a better race now returned to the turf after a poor recent run on the all-weather. At a price Bluebell Ridge could go well, however it is Silca Destination who can gain that elusive first turf success.
