Night Rocket has a live chance of overcoming top weight in this company and is selected in preference to River Bounty, Namu and Duty Doctor. The drop in trip is an interesting move with Duty Doctor, who tries six furlongs for the first time this season. Obviously unexposed at the distance, Sylvester Kirk's charge would not appear to want the ground to be too soft, though. And it would be advisable to check the going before wading in with the son of Dr Fong. The much travelled Namu showed more of her old sparkle last time out and would be dangerous to rule out. She was versatile during her time with Barry Hills, so should cope with the ground conditions. River Bounty goes well here and has a very consistent profile. He did look held off this mark at Windsor last month, though, and needs to be at the top of his game if he is going to prevail. Therefore, it can pay to side with Night Rocket, who will be making only the fifth start of her career. Andrew Balding's filly is open to acres of improvement and, as this is hardly a step up in class for her, the daughter of Night Shift has a strong chance of coping with this latest test of her ability.
