Topazes has won four races this season already and is taken to add to that tally at the expense of Border Owl and Traphalgar. The selection won on the all weather at Southwell before taking advantage of what was a lenient mark to score again three more times on the turf. His latest win at Haydock was off a mark of 81 and with only one more pound to carry this time out he looks more than capable of winning again. Border Owl has been banging on the door of late and caught the eye when third of eleven at Windsor last time out for whish he has been raised two pounds. That looks slightly harsh considering he is yet to win but he is still put on the short list. Traphalgar won three times as a two year old which has affected his three year old career. He has been dropped a couple of pounds this season but he still looks poorly treated at present so is best watched. So for the winner we return to Topazes.
