FIELD DAY has the potential to rate considerably higher in the future and is preferred to easy course and distance winner Frances Stuart and Love Match. Frances Stuart has progressed with each start and won impressively last month in a race that has produced a subsequent winner despite not looking the strongest. Connections are hopeful that she can improve again from that run and she could get the run of the race in front which would improve her chances. Love Match is in the form of her life at present and lost little in defeat at Leicester and there are sound reasons for believing that she could be even more effective over this longer trip and her yard could hardly have been in better form over the past fortnight. That pair have to be feared but Field Day looked potentially top class when winning her maiden at the back end of last season when connections had a Guineas trial in mind; in fact, she made her reappearance in a Nottingham handicap at the start of June when looking in need of both the run and the experience and she's fancied to reward connections' patience by landing this before having her sights raised.
