KUANYAO may be able to come out on top from the in-form pair of Lucy Brown and The Wee Chief. Lucy Brown is a fascinating runner and only Mick Easterby's third at this track in the past five seasons; neither of her two most recent predecessors have won but she was opening her account for this yard last time when 3lbs lower and has to be feared now that she's found her form for new connections. The handicapper appeared to have The Wee Chief's measure prior to his win at Windsor so it remains to be seen how he copes with a 4lb rise but he was good value for the success. Timeteam's recent victories have come in selling company but he's not badly treated on the best of his old form for Sylvester Kirk and could go well whilst his former handler is represented by Erebus who should throw down a strong challenge now that he's picked up the winning thread and the booking of Dettori bodes well. However, marginal preference is for Kuanyao who made steady progress for Peter Makin last term and resumed where he left off with victory at Yarmouth from a 5lb lower perch. He was allowed an uncontested lead that day and drops back in trip tonight but he seems to be pretty versatile and is worth keeping on side.
