      In depth

      Verdict

Stolen Hours has been knocking at the door and can oblige at the expense of Mandatum, Panzer and Jumeirah Scarer. Stolen Hours was not winning out of turn when scoring at Newmarket last July after a string of placed efforts, but failed to add to his tally and was put away after running at Chepstow in September. John Akehurst's charge only returned to action in May and has finished runner-up both times, at Leicester and Sandown. The Leicester form has already been boosted by the fourth Feed The Meter who has since rattled off a hat-trick, and Stolen Hours should lend it further credence with everything in his favour. Mandatum was noted staying on after losing his place at Musselburgh, but the drop back in trip is not certain to be in his favour. Panzer looks held on a line through Feed The Meter, and Jumeirah Scarer is still a maiden. He stayed on well when not beaten far at Musselburgh over a mile, and with stamina on the dam's side to help, Mick Channon's charge has place claims at least. For the winner though, we prefer the claims of Stolen Hours.
