The return to this trip will suit Jira however she may face a tough task under her Listed penalty; preference is for SHAMANDAR ahead of Walk On Water and She's A Character. This highlight of the card looks pretty tight but William Haggas' filly really should be coming here with two wins at least under her belt. Having won on her debut in facile fashion, she was then a bold second to Monsieur Chevalier in the Newbury Super Sprint followed by a second to Sand Vixen last time out in Listed company. On both occasions she hung in the closing stages and may have won last time had her jockey taken corrective measures earlier. Interestingly Michael Hills now comes in for the ride and she has an obvious chance at the weights. She's A Character should appreciate the return to this trip following a bold effort against Extension and the boys in a Group Two at Goodwood; the stable have had a good week and she looks a player. Sweet Sonnet seemed to be outclassed in the Albany Stakes but her yard have since hit top form and she is open to more improvement, as are Theladyinquestion and Queen's Grace who both won their maiden on their latest start. Roodle needs to improve but this longer trip looks more in her favour, Conniption could be anything following an impressive debut win on soft ground at Newbury, whilst Seeking Dubai looks progressive but this is a big step up in class. Of more interest then is Walk On Water who made a big impression in a Chester conditions race last time out; Henry Cecil's filly steps up in class but she is from a fine Antipodean family and is open to any amount of improvement. An open affair once again however it is Shamandar who can gain a deserved Listed race success.
