In depth

Verdict

Many of Battle Of Saratoga's stablemates have needed their opening runs but it was still a disappointing run at Naas last week and he's gone backwards since his debut. Allowed had finished close behind Show Court when both made their debuts over today's trip at the Curragh but was well beaten by that rival when stepped up to 1m4f at Leopardstown last Sunday. That winner is trained by the in-form Dermot Weld who has a couple of entries here and it's the newcomer ENCRYPTED MESSAGE, the third foal of a mare who has produced two winners, who gets the vote. Invincible Vince couldn't go the pace over a mile on his debut at Cork but with that under his belt and a longer trip he can do better. Kavanagh has some fine form in bumpers but this looks too short.
