      Verdict

      Barend Boy and, at the other end of the handicap, Commander Solo are hard to fancy on recent form but the remainder all look to have a chance of sorts. Riviera Nights easily landed the odds over 7f at Brighton but BALANCE OF POWER looked ready for the step up to a mile when just touched off over an extended 7f at Beverley, though that run ties him in closely with last month’s Carlisle winner Flint Hill. Dark Thunder finished second off this mark at Haydock last month while Off Piste won over course and distance before pulling much too hard last week at Ayr.
